This is for you. A list of our favourite Open Source or Free programs and utilities that everyone should have. In no particular order then

Filezilla - The best FTP client out there. Period

Agent Ransack - If you ever need to find a file, or search for a string within a file agent ransack is your friend. Much quicker than the built in windows search

PaperCut - Your first call for doing any development that involves sending emails. A system tray app that will act as a mail server and let you see the mail you want to send without any of the hassle of havig to set up a mail server or accounts or anything

Paint.Net - Simple, easy image editing tool that lets you manipulate images to your hearts content.

Notepad++ - Is there really a better text and source editor out there? We don't think so. Code highlighting, third party plugins. Fabulous.

Open DBDiff - One for the DB guys - great tool to compare database schemas and really useful for development

Cooktop - Great XML management program

TreeSizeFree - Ever find yourslf running out of space on your hard disks? Treesize will give you a nice clean and quick report on what's eating up your previous gigabytes

Unlocker - Developing with files and getting locking issues? Unlocker will tell you which process has locking handles on your files and will allow you to kill them quickly and easily
